The leadership in the Republican Party is unchanged for the 113th Congress. Speaker of the House John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCathy will all hold their high ranked positions in the Republican Party. All three of them were not challenged for their positions. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers from Washington was also elected by the Republicans in the House as its chair for the Congress. McMorris Rodgers defeated Tom Price a congressman from Georgia for the position. She will rank fourth in the House leadership. Price had support Congressman and former Republican VP nominee Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. Cathy McMorris Rodgers was seen to be the favorite by most of the Republican leadership.
