I personally believe this is just a rumor. Although I like Ted Cruz a lot and I see him as a potential candidate in the future I don't see him as a possibly candidate in 2016. Election 2016 doesn't actually start in 2016. It starts at the end of 2014 after the midterm elections. So basically the beginning of 2015. If he started his campaign for the Republican nomination in 2015, he would only be a Senator for a little more then two years. Now we are running into the same problems Democrats faced with Obama in 2008 and how he was not a Senator that long, in fact he was elected in 2004, assumed the Senate office in 2005 and in 2006 expressed his ambitions to run for President. All together it was roughly 830 days of being in the Senate before he actually ran for President. I do believe Ted Cruz does have more qualifications to be President right now then Obama did in 2008 but I just don't believe its his time yet. If Republicans don't win in 2016, which we have a very good chance at, 2020 would be a good election year for Ted Cruz to run for President.
