The graph below shows the RCP national poll average for the month of October. Based on the graph I think it is safe to say October is the month for Governor Mitt Romney. Before October Barack Obama was gaining in the polls and Governor Romney was dropping in the polls. That was most likely due to the Democratic National convention which gave Obama a lot of momentum. As we moved into October the 2012 Presidential debates began. Mitt Romney's strong showing in the first Presidential debate is what gave Romney the needed momentum. This momentum pushed him right back up in the polls nationally and in the states.
