Mike Huckabee To Announce Presidential Plans on May 5

Governor Mike Huckabee revealed yesterday on Fox News that he will announce his Presidential intentions on May 5 at an even in Hope, Arkansas. Mike Huckabee is the former Governor of Arkansas. He ran for President in 2008 but lost the nomination to Senator John McCain.

Since leaving politics Mike Huckabee hosted a show on Fox News called "Huckabee," he also hosted a radio show. Recently he has ended his radio show and Fox News show to explore a Presidential run.

Mike Huckabee did consider a run for President in 2012 but decided against it. Seeing that Huckabee ended his show on Fox News I believe Huckabee will run for President in 2016.

Washington (CNN)After teasing reporters earlier Friday that he was set to reveal his presidential ambitions for 2016, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee went on Fox News to instead say that he will announce his plans in his home state next month.

"Come to Hope on May the 5th. You'll find out what's going to happen," Huckabee told Bret Baier on "Special Report" Friday night. "I think it'll be worth tuning in for."

Where Do The 2016 Republican Candidates Stand On Taxes

4/16/2015

Since yesterday was the deadline to pay your taxes to the Government, I thought it wold be nice to see the tax plans of Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz. The sections that are posted below are exerts from the candidates websites.

Marco Rubio 2016

The current tax code taxes too much, taxes unfairly, and conspires with our outmoded welfare system to trap poor families in poverty, rather than facilitate their climb into the middle class. Our reforms seek to simplify the structure and lower rates. How? By consolidating the many existing income tax brackets into two simple brackets—15% and 35%—and eliminating or reforming deductions, especially those that disproportionately benefit the privileged few at everyone else’s expense.

Rand Paul 2016

I propose we cut taxes for everyone -- rich and poor. I want to shrink the Federal government and expand the private sector. Our Founder’s never intended for the tax code to be used as a weapon against US citizens. Burdensome tax regulations hurt small businesses and slow down our economy.

Ted Cruz 2016

Senator Ted Cruz has yet to officially release his tax plan. Through interviews and speeches that Cruz has given we have an understanding of what his policies towards taxes would be as President. The section below was taken from Breitbart.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) believes the IRS should be abolished after the institution of a simpler flat tax.
He said the tax code invites agents to abuse and use the machinery of government to target political enemies and said doing so was wrong whether the president was Barack Obama or Richard Nixon.

“I think we ought to abolish the IRS and instead move to a simple flat tax,” Cruz said on Fox News over the weekend.

He said the tax code should be simple enough for the average American to fill out on a postcard.

Ben Carson Plans Major Announcement On May 4

4/14/2015

Dr. Ben Carson who currently is exploring a Presidential campaign will make an announcement about his decision on the 2016 Presidential race on Monday, May 4. If no one else enters the race between now and May 4 and Carson does indeed announce that he is going to run, he would be the fourth GOP Presidential candidate with Tea Party appeal.
Source: Washington Times
Ben Carson will make a major announcement on his 2016 presidential-campaign plans in three weeks, CNN reported Monday night, citing a spokeswoman.

But while the network reported that the speech will be made May 4 in Detroit, spokeswoman Deanna Bass cautioned that her boss, the first major Republican to start a presidential exploratory committee back in February, may either run or not run.

Marco Rubio Chooses White House Over Senate Reelection

4/14/2015

Florida Senator Marco Rubio made the decision to run for President over running for reelection of his Senate seat in the 2016 election. Florida law prevents a candidate from appearing on the ballot twice. If Rubio was to get the Republican Presidential Nomination or Vice Presidential Nomination he would not be allowed to run for Senate. If Rubio was to lose the Republican nomination and was not chosen to be a running mate on the GOP Presidential ticket he could run for his Senate seat. Rubio does not want to do this. Basically putting all his marbles in the basket of getting on the Republican ticket. The question is why would someone opt out of keeping their job? The National Review may have the answer for you.
Rubio’s frustration with the Senate, long an open secret among his colleagues, has personal and political aspects. The freshman lawmaker “feel[s] guilty” about the amount of time he spends away from his young family in Miami, as he wrote in his memoir. The job doesn't pay particularly well relative to what Rubio could make in the private sector. Democrats have thwarted most of his major legislative efforts, and his one big attempt to reach across the aisle, the Gang of Eight immigration bill, cost him support among the same tea-party voters who had swept him into office.
The article goes on to say that if Marco Rubio was to lose his bid for the White House some FLorida operatives believe he would run for Governor of Florida in 2018.

Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio has announced his 2016 intentions in a conference call with his top donors. Senator Rubio informed his supporters that he will announce his candidacy for President later this evening in Miami and we will post the video.
WASHINGTON — Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, a telegenic rising star with appeal to conservative and establishment Republicans, told donors in a conference call today that he will run for president, according to multiple news reports.
If Senator Marco Rubio is elected he would be the first Hispanic President of the United States. The first term senator has surprised many in Florida by deciding to challenge his political mentor  former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. Right out of the 2012 Presidential election Marco Rubio was seen as the frontrunner for the 2016 Republican nomination. Recent polls show Rubio has slipped but in a field with not clear leader in the pack Rubio can reclaim his position and win the nomination.
